The Dowse
The Dowse Art Museum focuses on extraordinary creativity in all realms - from fashion to industrial design, from craft to multimedia and from painting to the creative industries. Consistently refreshed throughout the year, The Dowse displays a range of contemporary, international and local art and design exhibitions in its 11 gallery spaces on two levels. Key to its vision is a desire to inspire creativity, so throughout the exhibition spaces are a variety of hands-on exhibits and activity stations, giving visitors the chance discover the ’inner artist’. Located a short 20 minute ride from inner city Wellington, The Dowse features a great café and shop and is open every weekday from 10am – 4.30pm and in the weekends from 10am – 5pm.
