Two Rooms
Two Rooms, opened since August 2006, is a contemporary art gallery located in a converted warehouse in Central Auckland, New Zealand. The director of Two Rooms, Jenny Todd, previously of Todd Gallery London, presents a program of residencies and projects by leading international and New Zealand contemporary artists.
The building houses two exhibition spaces, the Project Room and the Long Room. A state-of-the-art fit-out sees the large ground level gallery equipped for new-media and digital exhibitions with a full range of networked audio-visual and online facilities. Major works by filmmakers Olivo Barbieri and Eija Liisa Ahtila were shown in 2006. The gallery also represents a growing stable of international artists working in painting, photography and sculpture.
An important focus of the gallery is an artist residency programme, supporting and commissioning ambitious new works and facilitating the exchange of ideas between New Zealand and International artists.
